PITTSBURGH, PA., January 12, 2016 – BLEND Bar with Davidoff Cigars (BLEND) announced today that it recently signed a lease for approximately 5,000 square feet in the Koppers Building located at 436 Seventh Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. The BLEND concept is award winning and proven. BLEND was recently named one of five finalists for “Best Cigar Lounge in the World” by Cigar Journal magazine. The Cigar Journal’s Cigar Trophy is regarded as the most highly respected accolade in the trade, and has been awarded since 1998. BLEND was the only cigar lounge in the U.S. to be named a finalist.

Commenting on the announcement, Corey Johnston, President, stated “We are very excited about the opportunity to take our BLEND concept to Pittsburgh. We have found an excellent partner in Rugby Realty to work with in making this happen. Pittsburgh is an ideal market for our upscale cigar bar and lounge experience.”

The BLEND concept is built around a complete sensory experience. “We will offer customers unparalleled selections of spirits, wine and cigars from around the world in a luxurious environment featuring a state-of-the-art ventilation system,” Johnston added. “Customers will enjoy their BLEND experience free from the typical smoke filled surroundings found in most lounges.”

BLEND Pittsburgh will offer a unique and upscale environment for adults with discerning tastes who want a great atmosphere where they can network, socialize or unwind. An upscale cigar bar and lounge, BLEND is a professionally designed, upscale entertainment experience featuring exotic fabrics, leathers and wood surfaces, custom built premium furniture and a proprietary entertainment network, the Blend Entertainment Network (BEN) which encompasses the latest audio and video technology from Bose.

Top-of-the-line offerings that will be available at BLEND’s Pittsburgh location will include premium cigar brands such as Davidoff, Fuente and Diamond Crown, as well as sophisticated spirits including Ultra Premium Fuzzy Vodka, Balvenie, Blanton’s, Pappy Van Winkle and Johnny Walker Odyssey. Additionally, BLEND works with its cigar and spirits partners to offer rare blends that are handpicked and created specifically for BLEND.
Real estate development company Rugby Realty Co., Inc also sees the value and opportunity that exists with the BLEND concept. ”The opening of BLEND in the Koppers Building is key to our efforts to return the Koppers Building to its original grandeur. In conjunction with the installation of a best in class fitness center that our tenants enjoy at no cost, refinishing of the brass entrances and elevators, state of the art directories and fresh cut flowers in the lobby, the Koppers Building has once again achieved its marquis status on Grant Street”, says Larry Walsh, Chief Operating Officer – Pittsburgh and a principal in the Koppers Building.
